New Chief Residents announced, to begin in March

The new co-chief residents for academic year 2021-2022 will be 3rd-year residents Drs. Lauren Bonomo, Emily Duffy and Deva Wells. 

The new co-chief residents will be assuming responsibilities beginning March 1, allowing for a limited amount of overlap with the current co-chiefs Drs. Josiah Hanson and Max Vale, before the new academic year begins in June. 

Chief residents assist with creating resident's schedules for the year, are involved in various strategic leadership meetings, organize and lead educational conferences and serve as liaisons between the residency program and division faculty. 

Dr. Bonomo is a graduate of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She has completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at Mount Sinai prior to residency to hone her focus on the use of biologics for psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. She also has a clinical interest in pediatric dermatology and serves on the division Wellness and Volunteer committees. 

Dr. Duffy received her MD from Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and has previously completed a Pediatrics Residency at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Duffy is an active member of various professional organizations including the Society for Pediatric Dermatology and the National Psoriasis Foundation. She is also a member of the division Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee.

Dr. Wells is a lifer of the University of Washington, where she received her undergraduate and Medical degrees, as well as completed her internal medicine residency in which she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Wells’s interests include the intersection of ethics, professionalism, and social media use, and she is clinically very interested in the intersection of dermatology and infectious diseases.
