Rongxiang Lin Joins Nghiem Lab Research Team
UW Dermatology delighted to welcome Rongxiang Lin (he, him) to our division as a Research Scientist in the Nghiem Lab!
Rongxiang will support the Nghiem Lab’s ongoing research projects focused on the biology, treatment and prevention of skin cancers. Welcome to the lab, Rongxiang!
Rongxiang Lin
Originally from China, Rongxiang graduated from the University of Washington in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Physiology. Prior to joining the Nghiem Lab, Rongxiang gained research experience as a team leader assisting Sophia Koutsogiannaki, PhD, Assistant Professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard University, with her online study on “Cancer Biology and Cancer Immunotherapies.”
Rongxiang has a wealth of leadership and volunteer experience. He is currently the Emergency Department Coordinator for Swedish Medical Center First Hill where he manages and trains new health scholars. At Swedish, Rongxiang volunteers with several departments including general medical, acute rehabilitation, ICU and patient experience. He also mentors and guides first and second year college students as a Scholar Lead for the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship.
Rongxiang’s research interests focus on the investigation of immunotherapy in cancer treatments, especially the immune checkpoint inhibitors and T-cell receptor-based therapy. These therapies have shown promising results in many cancers and have become more of a frontier medicine for advanced cancer patients.
In his free time, Rongxiang enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games and reading fiction.
