Dr. Divya Seth Joins UW Dermatology Faculty

Please join us in welcoming Divya Seth, MD, MPH (she/her) to the Department of Dermatology as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice. Dr. Seth will join Dr. Jeremy Kampp as our second board-certified dermatologic surgeon specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery.
Dr. Seth’s clinical work will be based at the Roosevelt Dermatology Clinic, the Roosevelt Dermatologic Surgery Center, and Fred Hutch Cancer Center, where she will see general medical dermatology patients as well as perform Mohs surgical procedures.
Aligning with her passion for medical education, Dr. Seth will also serve as our new Director of Procedural Education. In this role, she will lead the teaching and development of curriculum focused on dermatologic procedures—including skin biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and other medical and surgical techniques essential to dermatologic care. Through hands-on training, simulation, and clinical mentorship, Dr. Seth will help ensure our trainees gain the technical skills and clinical judgment needed to deliver high-quality, procedure-based care.
Dr. Seth comes to us from The Permanente Medical Group in San Rafael, California, where she has served as a Mohs surgeon since 2024.
Dr. Seth earned her BA in Neurobiology from Harvard College in 2014, followed by a Master of Public Health in Quantitative Methods from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2018. That same year, she completed her internal medicine internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Seth then pursued dermatology residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) from 2020 to 2023, serving as chief resident during her final year. She remained at UCSF to complete a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology, which she finished in 2024. Dr. Seth is double board certified in Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery.
Dr. Seth has shown a strong and consistent commitment to medical student and resident education. During her time at UCSF, she provided hands-on surgical training to dermatology residents and served as Chief Resident, where she led wellness initiatives and advocated for reducing administrative burdens on trainees. She has also contributed as a small-group facilitator, clinical skills preceptor, curriculum developer, and journal club leader. Her dedication to teaching was recognized with the UCSF GME Excellence and Innovation Award, highlighting her passion for advancing medical education.
She has a strong and sustained record of clinical and global health research, with more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and numerous national presentations.
