Congratulations to Jessica Ayers, a PhD student in the laboratory of Cory Simpson, MD, PhD, who was recently awarded a $1000 travel grant from the NIH-funded UC Irvine Skin Biology Resource Center to attend the SID 2025 Annual Meeting in San Diego this May.
At the SID, Jessica will deliver a plenary talk focused on her thesis project that has engineered a novel 3D tissue model for studying the genetic skin blistering disorder, Hailey-Hailey disease.
Jessica was one of only three awardees chosen to receive a Trainee Meeting Attendance grant from the UC Irvine Skin Biology Resource Center’s Enrichment Program, which offers a range of initiatives and awards designed to support research and collaboration.
Congratulations, Jessica, on this outstanding achievement—wishing you safe travels and an inspiring experience as you share your research with the dermatology community!
