2020 Post-Residency Plans
Congratulations to our 2020 graduates on their accomplishments in residency and their future plans!
Dr. Courtney Gwinn
What's next:
Dr. Gwinn will be moving to Boston, MA to complete a Dermatologic Surgery and Cosmetics fellowship at SkinCare Physicians with Drs. Dover, Arndt, Rohrer, and Kaminer.
"I am so thankful to the University of Washington for, in a sense, “raising me” in the medical world over the past 8 years throughout medical school and residency. I have trained under some of the most brilliant minds in Dermatology and Medicine and will try to remember and embody every pearl and life lesson bestowed upon me. I have found the teaching mentality and trainee driven focus at the University of Washington to be the most valuable. It is clinics like Dr. Olerud’s where everyone comes together to learn from and encourage one and other that make me love medicine."
Dr. Natalie Moriarty
What's next:
Dr. Moriarty will be joining Virginia Mason in Seattle, doing mostly medical dermatology in clinic, as well as some skin surgeries and hospital consults.
"The breadth and depth of experiences was outstanding. Everything from caring for critically ill patients with almost no skin, and diagnosing rare genetic syndromes in babies, to treating psoriasis or comforting a patient with a skin cancer diagnosis. I appreciate how supported I was in opportunities to present and publish on topics that interest me academically, particularly by my mentor Dr. Kalus. The most meaningful part of all has been the relationships built along the way, with my co-residents, attendings, staff and patients. I will miss the daily interactions with my UW Dermatology family."
Dr. Eliza Notaro
What's next:
Dr. Notaro will be practicing medical dermatology at Polyclinic in Seattle.
"UW Derm gave me a solid training in medical dermatology, and I also learned the importance of developing professional relationships that are both supportive and push me. I felt 'at home' here!"
Dr. Andrea Rea
What Next:
Dr. Rea will join the faculty at UW as an Acting Instructor, and work in clinic on the Eastside.
