The Nghiem Laboratory held their first ever online Merkel CELLebration in lieu of the annual Merkel Dinner over Zoom on Monday, September 14, 2020 from 3-5 PM PDT.

The Lab annually celebrates the advances in the treatment of Merkel cell carcinoma and the community of patients, families, and medical personnel brought together in fighting this disease.

The 2020 virtual event was attended by over 275 patients and families, clinicians from across the country, pharmaceutical partners, and scientific experts.

The program included a musical performance, presentation of new research and clinical developments in MCC, as well as a virtual lab tour, as well as several patient stories. Patients, family and friends greeted each other and thanked the team in the Zoom chat room. The event ended with attendees gathering in breakout groups to share and discuss their experiences with MCC and ask further questions to the research team.

Thank you to everyone who was a part of this milestone celebration! We hope to see you all in person next year.
