Welcome Nghiem Lab Undergrad Research Assistants
UW Dermatology is delighted to welcome two new undergraduate research assistants to the Nghiem Lab, Smitha Chandrasekhar and Macy Gilmour!
Smitha and Macy, both current students at the University of Washington, were selected from a very competitive pool of applicants for their high academic standing and praise from their work and extra-curricular colleagues.
We are thrilled for Smitha and Macy to join the Nghiem Lab Research Team at at South Lake Union (SLU) and begin supporting our skin cancer research projects.
Smitha Chandrasekhar
Smitha (she/her) is a UW sophomore majoring in Biology and minoring in Data Science and is from San Ramon, CA. Last year, Smitha collected data for a UW’s Radiation Oncology study that analyzed patient’s physical sensation experienced by radiation therapy. Outside of school, Smitha plays tennis and reading.
Macy Gilmour
Macy (she/her) is a UW sophomore majoring in Biochemistry and comes from Nashville, TN. During high school, Macy helped with a study utilizing theatre as an interventional therapy for adolescents with autism spectrum. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and listening to French podcasts.
