Join Us for the UW Dermatology 21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge

As we continue to promote allyship and understanding of issues related to inclusion, diversity, access, and equity in our professional community and beyond, the UW Dermatology Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee invites you to join us from Monday, February 8th until Sunday, February 28th for a 21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge to empower actions that eliminate racial injustices and bring healing to those impacted.

How do I participate?

For 21 Days...

  1. Do one action daily to further your understanding of power, privilege, supremacy, oppression, and equity.

Choose an activity. Whether you are able to spend 10 minutes or 10 hours, you'll be able to find something from the following resources:

America & Moore 21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge, and/or

UW Dermatology EDI Resource List (Internal Only)

If you would like to be prompted to do the work each day with a text or email, use this link https://21daychallenge.prohabits.com/start to receive reminders on each of the 21 days.

  2. Track your progress daily.

Use this tracking tool: 21 Day Challenge Tracking Tool

If you are someone who likes to plan ahead, you can download the tracker and copy and paste the actions that you would like to engage in ahead of time to your tracker to be able to quickly access it each day.

  3. Reflect on your experience.

Talk with friends, loved ones, or colleagues or journal about what you are learning.

If you would like to have discussion with fellow challenge participants, we will provide a safe space for lunch discussions. Participation is only open to internal participants (access info listed on Intranet).

Why participate in this challenge?

Creating effective social justice habits, particularly those dealing with issues of power, privilege, supremacy and leadership is like any lifestyle change. Setting our intentions and adjusting how we spend our time can help us to build new habits. Sometimes the hardest part is just getting started. By participating in this challenge, we are providing the tools to get started or to continue building these habits.
