The Division of Dermatology is excited to announce, Ata S. Moshiri, MD, MPH, FAAD, Assistant Professor in the UW Medicine Division of Dermatology, the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, and dermatologist at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), has been selected to participate in the American Academy of Dermatology Association’s (AAD) 2022 Academic Dermatology Leadership Program (ADLP) and Leadership Forum. The Leadership Forum is scheduled for April 29th - May 1st, 2022, at the Eaglewood Resort in Itasca, IL.

“I am very honored to be selected for this program," says Dr. Moshiri. "I look forward to building long-lasting relationships with peers and mentors around the country that will help me better serve my patients locally and also guide the growth of our skin cancer research programs at the University of Washington.”

The Academic Dermatology Leadership Program is a year-long program that includes the Leadership Forum plus training sessions and a mentor relationship, and works to address the unique challenges of academic dermatology practice. The AAD’s annual Leadership Forum is a two-day forum that provides opportunities to advance leadership and communication skills while networking with colleagues.

Dr. Moshiri is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist specializing in skin oncology, complex medical dermatology, and diagnostically challenging cases where his training in both disciplines is critical to clinical-pathologic correlation. He has special interests in melanoma and pigmented lesions, and using the latest technologies and techniques to diagnose, monitor and treat these growths. He currently maintains a pigmented lesion specialty clinic at UWMC Roosevelt, as well as a melanoma clinic at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) where he treats advanced melanoma with injectable oncolytic viral therapy.
