Please join us in welcoming UW alumna Rhiannon Rasaretnam (she/her) to the division as a new Administrative Assistant.

Rhiannon will provide support to Dr. Paul Nghiem, Division Head, and help manage scheduling, staffing and communications for UW Dermatology leadership as we prepare for the division’s upcoming transition to become a department within the UW School of Medicine in July 2023.

Congratulations, Rhiannon, and welcome to UW Dermatology. We are happy you are here!

Originally from Renton, Wash., Rhiannon Rasaretnam is a recent graduate of the University of Washington Jackson School of International Studies where she studied International Relations and Affairs. As a UW student, Rhiannon dedicated much of her time to activism, volunteering and community organizing. She has held several leadership positions with the Associated Students of the University of Washington (ASUW), most recently leading student government elections as the Elections Administration Committee Chair.

Rhiannon has also supported equity-focused research through her many internship experiences including the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA), the UW Dream Project and the Putting Immigration and Education into Conversation Everyday (PIECE) grant study led by Dr. Dafney Blanca Dabach. In 2021, Rhiannon’s advocacy on behalf of underrepresented students earned her a spot on UW’s annual Husky 100 list.

In her free time, Rhiannon enjoys exploring antique malls and estate sales, particularly to collect old books and vintage furniture. She is also studying for the Russian language exam, which has been a challenging but very fun experience!
