Dr. Michi Shinohara Begins as Director of Dermatopathology Service

Associate professor and Associate Chief of Dermatology, Dr. Michi Shinohara, begins as Director of the Dermatopathology (Dermpath) service located at the University of Washington Medical Center Montlake Campus. 

The Dermpath service is now provided in collaboration between the Division of Dermatology and the recently merged Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.

Four providers staff the Dermatopathology team diagnosing skin diseases by examining cellular samples under a microscope - Drs. Michi Shinohara and Ata Moshiri from the Division of Dermatology and pathologists Drs. Zsolt Argenyi and Evan George.

Under the energetic new leadership by Dr. Shinohara, the Dermpath service hopes to adopt new systems to provide timely, cost-effective, excellent service, and expand access for dermatologists around the region.

Dr. Shinohara is also the Director of the Dermatopathology Fellowship Program in the Department of Pathology.
