The University of Washington School of
Medicine Dermatology Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is a leading center for innovation in dermatologic research, advancing industry-sponsored trials, investigator-initiated studies, and patient registries that shape the future of skin health.
Our multidisciplinary team evaluates cutting-edge therapies ranging from novel and FDA-approved medications to over-the-counter products and procedural interventions, with the goal of bringing safer, more effective treatments to patients faster.
As the only tertiary academic dermatology center serving the WWAMI region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho), our CTU is uniquely positioned to expand access to clinical research while driving discoveries that improve care and reduce the burden of skin disease across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

About our clinical trials
Dermatology clinical trials are supported by UW's Translational Research Unit, a dedicated team of experienced research coordinators, regulatory specialists, and operations staff with expertise in the successful execution of more than 100 clinical trials across all phases of development.
As part of an academic medical center, our program combines rigorous scientific oversight with efficient trial operations to support industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies spanning a wide range of dermatologic conditions.
