The University of Washington’s Nghiem Lab held its annual Merkel CELLebration and Dinner on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at the UW Medicine South Lake Union research campus in Seattle.

This year’s hybrid event welcomed over 200 in-person attendees, and over 40 virtual attendees who watched the presentation via livestream.

Each year the Nghiem Lab hosts the Merkel CELLebration and Dinner to share the latest advances in the treatment of Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC), a rare and lethal form of skin cancer, and to connect with the lab’s extensive community of patients and their families, physicians, pharmaceutical partners, and scientific experts. Rongxiang Lin leads lab tour

The program included musical performances, meaningful patient MCC stories, and a presentation of new research and clinical developments. Attendees also had the chance to tour the Nghiem Lab, guided by members of the lab’s research team.

Thank you to all who attended this year’s Merkel CELLebration! We are honored to be partners as we come together to fight this disease.

Special thank you to the entire Nghiem Lab Research Team for their help planning and organizing this year’s event.
