Congratulations to Tomoko Akaike, MD, Acting Instructor, who has been selected to receive a 2022 ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) Annual Meeting Merit Award from Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation.

Tomoko Akaike The ASCO Merit Awards support oncology trainees who are first authors on abstracts selected for presentation at the ASCO Annual Meeting, June 3-7, 2022. Dr. Akaike’s abstract is titled, “The relationship between circulating tumor DNA with Merkel cell carcinoma tumor burden and detection of recurrence.

This year, Conquer Cancer recognized 151 recipients for their research advancements within the cancer care community. Recipients are honored with the opportunity to present their abstract at the meeting and receive $1,000 in monetary support, complimentary meeting registration, and access to reserved hotel reservation blocks. View a full list of 2022 ASCO Annual Meeting Merit Award recipients.
