Anna Tappel, MDThe UW Medicine Division of Dermatology residency program is pleased to announce the recipient of the Research/Career Development Elective for the 2022-23 academic year, third-year resident Dr. Anna Tappel.

Dr. Tappel’s project focuses on the impacts of data gaps on everyday lives and careers of women in medicine. This project will set the stage for a data-driven study of gender data gaps relevant to dermatology, including the dermatology workforce. Dr. Michi Shinohara is the mentor for the project.

The Research/Career Development Elective is a new program initiated last year to provide funding for protected, non-clinical time for residents to participate in mentored research projects.

Join us in congratulating Dr. Tappel on achieving this outstanding honor.
