The UW Medicine Division of Dermatology is honored to have two outstanding administrative staff members nominated for the 2022 University of Washington Together We Will Awards.

Stephanie Timm, Manager of Dermatology Education and Training Programs, and Aimee Filippi, CME Program Specialist and Intranet Programmer, have been nominated for their exceptional contributions to the Division of Dermatology and the University of Washington community. Both Stephanie and Aimee were nominated by colleagues from the division; read their nominations in full below.

Temporarily replacing the Distinguished Staff Awards, the Together We Will Awards were created to celebrate outstanding staff contributions made during the challenges of 2021. Staff are nominated based on a variety of considerations including; excellence in day-to-day operations, enhancing research and patient care, providing excellent customer service, participating in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at the UW, including anti-racism efforts, and going above and beyond to support their colleagues and our greater community. All nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee that will present up to 20 $1,500 awards to selected nominees.

2022 UW Dermatology Staff Nominations

Stephanie TimmStephanie Timm, Residency & Fellowship Programs Administrator

Stephanie Timm, Manager of Dermatology Education and Training Programs, has been at UW and the Division of Dermatology for 11 years. Stephanie has been a beloved and impactful star on our UW Dermatology team. Stephanie led our program’s efforts during the pandemic to ensure that derm residents remained supported and functional throughout the pandemic. Stephanie provides superb support for our residency program director and two associate program directors.

Stephanie is organized, delightful, professional, and has extremely high standards for her work and how she represents our extended team. Our residency program has grown by more than ~50% during the past five years and Stephanie has ensured that even as our program grows, the quality of the education remains superb, and our trainees feel valued and supported.

Nominated by Paul Nghiem, Head of the Division of Dermatology.

Aimee FilippiAimee Filippi, CME Program Specialist & Intranet Programmer

Aimee Filippi works with me as my counterpart in the Division of Dermatology in the Department of Medicine. Aimee is swift to respond, lightning fast at problem solving, and an all-around gem. She is constantly improving our division and rises to the occasion when given a challenge. She has a puzzle-solving brain and she doesn’t shy away from a big project, and can hold her own in any meeting. She is also social-justice minded and is constantly educating herself on relevant topics related to diversity, equity and inclusion.

She is a lovely colleague and we are truly lucky to have her on our team. Aimee does all of this part-time, AND she works several other jobs — one teaching babies and children music with Music Together, is the sole admin for Seattle Dermatologic Society, as well as managing the McCaw Hall gift shop for the Northwest Ballet. Thank you for considering her for the staff award — she deserves this honor and so much more for sharing her administrative gifts with UW, in addition to all of the other work she does within the community.

Nominated by Elizabeth Wright, Program Operations Specialist.
