Please join us in welcoming two new office assistants to the Department of Dermatology, Chiara Saretto and Angel Zarate!
Chiara and Angel are both undergraduate students at the University of Washington, and will support UW Dermatology's Finance Team.
Meet Chiara & Angel
Chiara Saretto

Hometown: Snoqualmie, Wash
Year in undergrad: Sophomore
Major: Biology
What drew you to this position at UW Derm?
I was interested in learning more about finance in medicine.
What do you like most about being a student at UW?
I love the community I have found through UW.
What are some of your goals after you graduate?
I hope to attend medical school and become a doctor although I have not determined which specialty I would like to go in to.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work and school?
I enjoy dance and I am part of a couple dance clubs here on campus. I also am part of a sorority here at UW and enjoy participating in philanthropic events and spending time with friends.
Angel Zarate

Hometown: Kent, Wash
Year in undergrad: Junior
Major: Applied and Computational Sciences: Data Science
What drew you to this position at UW Derm?
I believe research is an important part of Academia, being able to support it through UW Dermatology, while learning more about Data Analysis was a perfect opportunity for me.
Anthony and Tamara (Finance Team colleagues) are seasoned when it comes to working with Financial Data. I aim to learn how to handle data in live workplace environment.
What do you like most about being a student at UW?
UW Campus is beautiful and there are many opportunities in every field. I enjoy being surrounded by driven researchers, motivates me to continue my studies.
What are some of your goals after you graduate?
To continue onto Graduate school to study Machine Learning. There are many fields this emerging technology can help advance, I want to see how it can help push forward Life Sciences.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work and school?
Shooting film photography, especially when traveling internationally – currently collected photos from about 5 countries. I also enjoy getting lost in the city finding a random hole in the wall restraint where I get to try new food.
