Dr. Jason Ya Elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society
Congratulations to Dr. Jason Ya, PGY3, Co-Chief Resident, who has been elected to become a member of the University of Washington’s 2022 chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) Honor Medical Society. Dr. Ya is one of eight new residents and fellows elected by current chapter members to serve based on their high academic standing.
Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) is a national Honor Medical Society with over 120 chapters around the country. Election to AΩA is one of the highest honors that physicians can receive. It recognizes excellence in scholarly activities, humanistic qualities, leadership capacity, and exceptional patient care skills.
Its purpose is to recognize and perpetuate excellence in the medical profession. Its mission statement states, “AOA is dedicated to the believe that in the profession of medicine we will improve care for all by recognizing high educational achievement, honoring gifted teaching, encouraging the development of leaders in academia and the community, supporting the ideals of humanism, and promoting service to others.”
