Welcome 2022 AAD Diversity Mentorship Medical Student Scholar

Jazmin NewtonUW Dermatology is excited to announce our 2022 AAD Diversity Mentorship Program Scholar, third-year medical student Jazmin Newton! Jazmin was selected from a talented pool of candidates to join our division as part of the AAD Diversity Mentorship Program.

Jazmin is currently a third-year medical student at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. In addition to pursuing residency, Jazmin hopes to pursue a Master of Public Health and fellowship in pediatric dermatology. Later in her career, Jazmin also hopes to become part of a medical school’s administration as a dean or graduate medical education program as a residency program director. In her free time outside of medicine, Jazmin loves spending time with her friends and family, practicing her faith, reading, playing cards, dominoes, board games, and playing and watching sports, especially basketball.

“My interests in dermatology are many, but I am especially interested in public health, pediatric dermatology, skin and hair of color, genital dermatology, and medical education.” -Jazmin
