UW Dermatology Volunteers at 2025 Seattle/King County Clinic

Joining thousands of volunteers from across the region, this past weekend faculty, trainees, and staff from the UW Department of Dermatology participated in the Seattle/King County Clinic (SKCC), running April 24-27, 2025, at Seattle Center.
The annual event brings together healthcare organizations, civic agencies, nonprofits, businesses, and volunteers to produce the largest community-driven free health clinic of its kind in the US — providing free dental, medical, and eye care to people who struggle to access or afford healthcare.

This year’s clinic served over 3,300 patients from across the region and country, supported by over 4,000 volunteers.
Over the course of four days, our team in the SKCC dermatology clinic saw approximately 201 patients, addressing many different skin concerns including eczema, psoriasis, mole checks, acne, seborrheic dermatitis, melasma, among others.
As in previous years, the vast majority of patients cited a lack of insurance or being underinsured as their primary barriers to receiving care. Most SKCC patients have housing and work part time or full-time jobs to make ends meet.
