UW DERMATOLOGY WELOMES 5 FACULTY MEMBERS

Meet the newest members of the UW Dermatology Department faculty team!

Caitlin Brumfiel, MD

Caitlin BrumfielCaitlin Brumfiel, MD (she/her), is returning to the Department of Dermatology as Acting Instructor practicing at the Roosevelt Dermatology Clinic, Harborview Medical Center Dermatology Clinic, and Dermatology E-consult Services.

Dr. Brumfiel completed the UW Dermatology Residency Program in June 2026. Dr. Brumfiel’s clinical interests and scholarly work span inflammatory skin disease, cutaneous oncology, dermatopathology, skin of color, and teledermatology. She is a recipient of the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP) Mentorship Award. She has volunteered with the Seattle/King County Clinic and on medical mission trips providing primary healthcare services in Haiti and Belize.

In her free time, she enjoys hot yoga, Pilates, international travel (most recently she visited 5 countries in Europe after completing her residency), and attending live music shows. She’s excited to continue working with the incredible faculty, staff, and trainees at UW as she begins her new role as a faculty member. She’s looking forward to growing as a clinician and contributing to a department that has been such an important part of her training.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Brumfiel back and look forward to her innovation, leadership, and commitment to continued improvement, all of which will be outstanding contributions to the department.

 Jose Cortez, MD, MS

Jose CortezJose Cortez, MD, MS (he/him), is joining the Department of Dermatology as Acting Instructor practicing at the Roosevelt Dermatology Clinic and Fred Hutch Cancer Center. Dr. Cortez will also be at the UW Medical Center Roosevelt Dermatologic Surgery Center on Fridays performing Mohs micrographic surgery and excisions.

Dr. Cortez has clinical expertise in dermatologic surgery, cutaneous oncology, and Mohs micrographic surgery. His advanced fellowship training at Mayo Clinic has further strengthened his experience in managing complex skin cancers and performing reconstructive surgery.

He has received the iTeach Exemplary Resident Teaching Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to medical education. His commitment to mentorship and diversity initiatives includes his work with the Skin of Color Society Mentorship Program, the UNM Dermatology DEI Mentorship Program, and the Latino Medical Student Association.

In his free time, he hikes, runs, and is a beginner climber. He’s also an avid concert-goer, enjoys trying local coffee, traveling abroad, and spending time with his husband and two kitties. Dr. Cortez is excited to collaborate with the amazing faculty, staff, and trainees at UW Dermatology to provide expert care for all patients. He’s also excited to be living in what he calls “the absolute BEST part of the country.” We agree, Dr. Cortez!

We are truly fortunate to get to call Dr. Cortez a member of this department and look forward to adding his leadership and service-minded approach to our faculty team.


Caitlin CrimpCaitlin Crimp, MD

Caitlin Crimp, MD (she/her), is returning to the Department of Dermatology. She completed her Dermatopathology Fellowship Training at UW in June and will now serve as Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice at the Roosevelt Dermatology Clinic, Fred Hutch Cancer Center, Dermatopathology Service, and UW Medical Center Inpatient Service.

Dr. Crimp will also continue to serve as the Director of Phototherapy at the Roosevelt Dermatology Clinic, where she will provide clinical leadership as the primary supervising physician and will support clinical operations, staff education, and patient care.

Dr. Crimp is a dedicated educator who has made significant contributions to undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate medical education. She mentors medical students and trainees and has contributed to curriculum development of new dermatopathology coursework for the University of Washington Pathology Assistants Program.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, puzzles, and traveling. She is also about to begin training with her husband for the HYROX fitness competition in February 2027. Dr. Crimp is excited to start her new role as a dermatopathologist and all the learning and fun to come at the scope!

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Crimp back to the department and look forward to the leadership, clinical acumen, and compassion she brings to her work.


Teri Greiling, MD, PhD

Teri GreilingTeri Greiling, MD, PhD (she/her), is joining the Department of Dermatology as Professor practicing at the Roosevelt Dermatology Clinic, UW Primary & Specialty Care Center at South Lake Union, and Dermatology Telehealth Services.

Dr. Greiling will also serve as Director of the Dermatology Telehealth Program. She will oversee the continued development and expansion of dermatology telehealth services, specifically synchronous telemedicine pathways for Dermatology, and advance the integration of digital health technologies into the Department's clinical, educational, and research missions.

She has a deep commitment to working with patients who have rare autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Her post-doctoral research at Yale was on how the microbiome triggers lupus, and her primary research at OHSU was on management of pityriasis rubra pilaris.

Dr. Greiling spends her "free time" watching her 12-year-old son play ice hockey and her 9-year-old daughter play soccer. She tries to squeeze in time for meditation, Pilates, and walks while listening to audiobooks. She loves to explore and travel, including scuba diving with sharks! She resides in a multigenerational home on Queen Anne with her family and parents-in-law.

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Greiling and are excited for the leadership, integrity, and generous spirit she will bring to the department.


Keesha Jeter, DO, MS

Keesha JeterKeesha Jeter, DO, MS (she/her), is returning to the Department of Dermatology as Acting Instructor at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. Dr. Jeter completed the UW Dermatology Residency Program in June 2026. 

Dr. Jeter’s interests are general and procedural dermatology, nail disorders, skin of color, and dermatologic care in under-resourced communities. During residency, she taught dermatology small-group cases for medical students and led a biopsy workshop for residents at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She also served as the Resident Liaison to the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery from 2025-2026. She has volunteered with community and educational programs such as the Seattle/King County Clinic and UW School of Medicine’s Doctor for a Day.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, playing piano, and attending body combat classes.

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Jeter back to the department in the role of faculty! Her expert, compassionate care and her collaborative style make her a wonderful addition to the department.
