Diversity
In the Department of Dermatology, we value and honor diversity and believe it is integral to providing excellent patient care and an optimal environment to work and learn. We are committed to increasing opportunity and promoting diversity through recruitment and advancement of diverse faculty, trainees, and staff. We strive to cultivate a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for all.
Research
Our faculty emphasize patient care while also doing world-class research. We maintain a well-funded program of basic, clinical, and translational research. Members of our department work on a diverse topics and develop treatment methods and therapies for an array of skin conditions.
Education
We are proud to be one of the top teaching programs in the United States. Our faculty have earned numerous teaching honors and we are committed to providing future leaders in dermatology with exceptional training. We offer programs for residents, fellows, and medical students in dermatology and work with trainees from other specialties. By working closely with practitioners, students are exposed to a broad range of skin conditions, diagnostic methods, and treatment options.
UW Dermatology provides direct training in dermatology through our Residency Program, our Fellowship Programs, and through our Medical Student Clerkships.
Clinical Care
Since 1961, people with skin conditions have turned to the physicians at UW Dermatology for expert care. Our patients receive compassionate, advanced, and reliable support at six clinics in the greater Seattle area. Our robust research and training programs mean that patients have access to innovative treatment. Our doctors are recognized as among the region’s best and are noted leaders in dermatology.
